Chemical Reaction Rockets:  Grades 6-12. With this kit students learn about gas-forming chemical reactions by creating gas powered rockets.After creating a simple rocket powered by the reaction between acetic acid and calcium carbonate, students modify the reaction and the design of the rocket tube to maximise altitude. In a classroom competion, student teams learn the real world implications of the engineering design process. The challenge requires 1 or 2 class periods. Caters for 15 teams.
